Courtallam- The Spa of Southern India!

Courtallam also spelled Kuttalam or Kuttralam is a panchayat town in the Tirunelveli district of Southern India that’s a hillock residing on the Western Ghats elevated at an altitude of 160m above the sea level. It is the place where perennial rivers like Chittar River, Manimuthuar River, Pachaiyar River and the Thamirabharani River originates giving out some of the astonishing waterfalls for the people to cherish its natural gift. Chitraruvi (small falls) with a very thin flow of water from the hilltop makes it safe for the tourists to get themselves drenched. From here, the Shenbaga Devi Falls, Thenaruvi Falls, and the Herbal Farm can be trekked and reached.

At Shenbaga Devi Falls, the water flows through the Shenbaga Trees also known as the Champak trees where there is a temple dedicated to Shenbagadevi Amman. From here, at a distance of 3kms, resides the Thenaruvi Falls.

Thenaruvi Falls (Honey Falls) is a fall that is 40m high and can be seen cascading between two large stones giving out a tantalizing sight. Where there is no water, one can easily sight large chunks of honeycombs and coz of this, the falls is restricted to the general public.
